World AIDS Day

December 1, 2013
6 p.m.
New Jerusalem Baptist Church 918 MLK Blvd.

Every 1st of December a day of remembrance and awareness is held around the world centralized around AIDS and HIV. The NAACP Longview, along with Special Health Resources for Texas, and El Paisanos Of East Texas have planned this evening to reflect on the effects of this pandemic on the minority community, how the stigma of this health issue continues, and where we can go from here. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Emmerentie Oliphant of South Africa and the Social Work Department Head at Stephen F. Austin State University. Light a candle during the vigil for your loved ones who have succumbed to the disease. This will be the only event of its kind in our area. Join us.
