Financial Freedom Month

The NAACP Economic Department is hosting a multi-media contest to encourage units and state conferences who participate to create a short multi-media presentation to display how you celebrated Financial Freedom Month. We are awarding $500 to the unit who wins 1st prize winner; $300 to the 2nd prize winner and $200 to the 3rd prize winner.

We welcome all NAACP Units to participate in NAACP Financial Freedom Month and we are asking you to host one of the following events/programs:

1. Host an Economic Education/Advocacy Work Shop in your community
2. Host a local or statewide Webinar

3. Create an Economic Education/Advocacy Street Outreach Campaign

4. Set up an Economic Education Table at a high school/college/university or in the community

5. Canvassing and passing out Economic Education pamphlets at local grocery stores

6. Host or participate in a Community Fair

7. Social Media Campaign

8. Youth one-on-one mentoring: Youth teaching youth about financial education

9. Create a short Economic Education/Advocacy Video to share online for free on one of the following websites:

10. Host a program your unit feels will positively benefit the community you serve

The Economic Department is committed providing support to all NAACP units that are participating in the NAACP Financial Freedom Month through the following means:

1. Providing Marketing and Publicity Support (Flyers)

2. Connecting local NAACP units with National and Local Economic Education Experts to facilitate workshops

3. Providing technical assistance via a phone conference and one on one technical assistance

4. Promoting events on our National website and display unit’s events and pictures on our Social Media sites (Facebook and Twitter)

5. Educating NAACP members on important Economic Education and Advocacy issues affecting our community

We are asking all units who are interested in participating to join us on one of two of our National Conference Calls on Thursday April 11th at 3pmest and 7pmest to learn more about this exciting opportunity to partner with the Economic Department.
